Winter 2010 (part two)

Thanks Rose for changing into many outfits and Grandma for finding ways to persuade Rose to take of that very pretty skirt and try on something else. Thanks to Amelia from Willows for the flowers! The hair clip showing in the last picture is Rose's favorite! Polka dots and Holly Hobie from lulufroufrou.

Little Rose will be on the Mathilda's Market 2th of May.
I will list some pieces of the collection on Made-it after the market :)

new fabrics

Yeah!! The new fabrics have arrived!
They are beautiful :)
Busy time ahead, because I have three more stockists. I will be doing the Mathilda's Markets in May and hope to be on the Billycart Markets in June.
Luckily grandma has just arrived from the Netherlands and Rose loves her of course, so I will be able to get a lot done....

working from home

This is why I am so happy to be able to work from home.
Last week I was cutting out some shoes when Rose was having her midday sleep. She woke up a bit to early and walked into the room I was working at. 'O pretty colours' she said and sat down beside me to have a look at what I was doing. Then she hopped up, walked to the pile of the pieces I had just cut into shape and started to sort the fabrics while humming a little song.
Ow so cute, I thought. And although it is a real juggle sometimes taking care of Rose and having a little business as well. I was so happy to be able to see Rose in this way and have this time with her. It took me much more time to finish all the cutting, but that didn't matter at all!

Winter 2010 (part one)

Here is the first bit of the little rose winter 2010 collection!
Is is way to warm at the moment to put Rose in winter clothing for a little shoot, so this was the best I could come up with to give you a bit of an idea of what the winter will look like, but as soon as the weather gets a bit cooler Rose and I will make some pics...
The winter stuff will be available in my made-it store soon.

New Zealand

Ow New Zealand was great!
What a stunning country. Can you use stunning to describe a country!?
We went to the south Island. Christchurch, Queenstown and everything in between. Gorgeous mountains, lakes and misty bits. Very Lord of the Rings :)
We did some hiking, even Rose walked around for a bit, jumping over the rocks. She loved it.
It was nice and cool there (being Dutch I like that in the Middle of February ;)) and very easy to get around with a toddler.
Rose decided this was the time for her to get potty trained. I wasn't to sure about her timing but she was and hoped on every strange toilet and found nice grass bits to do a wee.
Hubby decided this was the time to jump out of a plane! Rose and I waited safely on the ground and watched him from being a teeny white spot high in the air turning into 'a cat in the hat' as Rose called all the people dangling in the air on a parachute, to landing safely on the ground with a big smile on his face!
I mostly relaxed...

Now back to the sewing again...

Inspiration for winter

It has been a while since I have written something on my blog...
Had a very nice quiet time with Rose.
Just before we are going on a holiday to New Zealand, very much looking forward to that, I wanted to give you a little rose update.
I am working on winter at the moment, so much fun! Though a bit hard with 40 degrees Celsius. I have found my inspiration again in Europe where it is very cold at the moment. My family and friends are sending me pictures of frozen lakes and snow! I must say that I do miss the cold with the rain, ice and snow.
When I lived in Delft I used to travel to Paris a lot for work. It was only 3 hours away by train, which was wonderful. I love Paris. Love the architecture, the greyness of the city and the beautiful vintage colourful furniture. Chanel and Louis Vuitton. The eccentric people, art and not to forget the patisserie.
No wonder that I was drawn like so many others to this place for inspiration.
While I was thinking of Paris, France and Chanel I came to think of Marie Antoinette and have to say that I simply adored the Kirsten Dunst version. Not so much the movie itself but the presentation of Kirsten playing Marie Antoinette. She is in my mind all the time when designing the new little rose winter range!
I will keep you updated...

Ow Boy

I was asked by Amelia from Willows to make a few boy sets.
I had to put my mind in the right direction. No angles, flowers and pink...
I thought well horses cowboys and owls should do the trick.
Here is the result!
They went of to Willows straight away, just in time for Christmas.

Sunday

Thanks again for everybody who came and said hi last Sunday.
Marleen and I had a great day. Wonderful weather and even though we were moved with our stall to another aisle early in the morning... grrr... most of our customers found us!
I will update my made it store this week with all the new goodies :)
Well very sad, but this was our last market together as Marleen will move to Brisbane in a little while.
I am going to miss her a lot....
